Visit of ICGS Varaha (14-17 Feb 2024)

Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) Varaha arrived at Maputo Port on 14 February 2024. The primary objective of the visit is to enhance maritime cooperation between India and Mozambique. During the next three days, the itinerary includes professional interactions such as onboard training and lectures, Board Search and Seizure and Maritime Search and Rescue, cross-deck visits, joint yoga sessions and table-top exercises for Marine Pollution Response.

Also, ICGS Varaha will be opened for visits by school children and the public.

The visit of ICGS Varaha underscores India’s ongoing efforts to foster friendly relations through maritime cooperation, aligning with the maritime vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, known as “SAGAR – Security and Growth for All in the Region,” with due emphasis on the Global South.
