- Shri Robert Shetkintong joined the Indian Foreign Service in 2001.
- Ambassador to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and African Union (Oct 2020 – Jan 2024).
- Served in the Ministry of External Affairs as Under Secretary / Deputy Secretary in External Publicity Division (Nov 2009-March 2012) and as Joint Secretary for Parliament & Coordination (Sept 2018-Oct 2020).
