High Commission of India in Maputo will be celebrating Ayurveda Day on 23 September 2025 (Tuesday) at 1800 hrs. Experts will be making presentations on the relevance, importance and benefits of ayurveda as well as traditional & alternative medicine.
Ayurveda Day is celebrated to mark the importance of Ayurveda, India’s traditional system of holistic health and wellness. Ayurveda has relevance in promoting individual well-being while ensuring ecological balance and sustainability. Ayurveda is rooted in harmony with nature, and it advocates preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative health approaches that are people-centric and environmentally responsible. It calls for sustainable use of natural resources, conservation of medicinal plants and biodiversity and responsible consumption practices.
