Republic Day celebrations in Mozambique (26 Jan 2026)

Republic Day of India was celebrated in Maputo with the unfurling of the national flag. About 200 Indian nationals and PIOs attended the event, where High Commissioner read the Hon’ble President’s address to the nation. This was followed by cultural programme including patriotic songs and dances. Celebrations were also held in other cities of Mozambique including Beira, Tete, Nampula, Nacala and Pemba.
High Commissioner appealed to the Indian community to generously donate for people who are affected by the floods. On behalf of the Indian community, High Commission of India will be handing over to communities in Maputo and Macaneta who are affected by flood.
