High Commission of India in Maputo in collaboration with Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports of India organized Viksit Bharat Run 2025 on 28 September 2025 (Sunday) in Maputo. Separately, Indian community organizations also organized similar events in Xai Xai, Beira, Tete and Nacala.

 The turnout in Maputo was remarkable, with more than 300 runners, volunteers and community organizations joining hands to make the event a grand success. Participants took Viksit Bharat and Aatmanirbhar Bharat Pledge and committed to contribute towards India’s journey of becoming a developed nation by 2047. This gesture brought Maputo closer to Indians across the globe, aligning with the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat and reinforcing a shared aspiration for growth, innovation and global leadership.

 The Viksit Bharat Run became a platform for diaspora engagement and youth mobilization with the Indian High Commission partnering community groups, cultural bodies and local organizations. It reinforced the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – the world is one family. Together, let us continue the journey towards a Viksit Bharat - a developed, self-reliant India rooted in service and global leadership.
