A Business Networking and Interaction event was co-hosted with India Business Council (IBC) of Mozambique on Saturday, 19 November 2022 at the Polana Hotel, titled “Know My Business” on the theme of ‘Boosting the bilateral 3Ts-Trade, Tourism & Technology & exports of ODOP from India to Mozambique’. It was conveyed to the IBC to hire a hall, proper audio-video system for screening presentations and promotional videos as also to invite media and print publicity material including banners and flyers in connection with the event.
2. The event was well attended by a large number of members of Mozambican business community as also officials from Moz Chambers of Commerce (APIEX), Ministry of Industry and Commerce and Confederation of Mozambican Industries (CTA) and National Directors & officials of Government of Mozambique. The dignitaries present were Mr.Vincent Joaquim, Secretary of state for Maputo City, Governor of Maputo represented by the National Director-Communications, Mr Prakash Prahlad, Vice President of CTA, President of Arab Chamber of Commerce. Besides, media persons were also present.
3. High Commissioner in his opening remarks spoke about the major sectors of growth in India and possible items of exports from India. He highlighted celebration of the year 2023 as the Year of Millets and invited Mozambican importers to take advantage of India as the world number one producer of Millets for addressing Mozambican needs of food security and nutrition. He also informed the gathering about the ODOP scheme of the GOI.
4. Indian tourism was also promoted through audio-video presentation, use of Incredible India banners & tourist material/ booklets received from Tourist Office Dubai.
5. The event was widely covered by Radio Mozambique and local TV channels – TVM, STV, Ram TV. A few photographs of the event are attached.
