Invitation to participate in the commemoration of the 1st ‘Veer Baal Diwas’ on December 26, 2022

Based on Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi’s historic announcement on January 9, 2022 to celebrate ‘Veer Baal Diwas’ to pay homage to the courage and martyrdom of Baba Fateh Singh Ji and Baba Zorawar Singh Ji, ‘Sahibzade’ of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the 10th Sikh Guru, Government of India has decided to observe 26th December for the same.

2. Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, while announcing the celebrations of the ‘Veer Baal Diwas’ on the birth anniversary of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji on January 9, 2022, had specifically mentioned the unparalleled sacrifices made by the two younger sons of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, namely, Sahib Zada Zorawar Singh Ji and Sahib Zada Fateh Singh Ji while walking on the path of justice.

3. Government of India’s decision to commemorate the 1st ‘Veer Baal Diwas’ on December 26, 2022 when India is celebrating 75 years of its independence under “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” (AKAM) is indeed historical and momentous. A brief background note on the story of the ‘Sahibzade’ is attached.

4. Based on the aforesaid decision of the Government of India, High Commission of India in Maputo will celebrate the ‘Veer Baal Diwas’ on December 26, 2022 by organizing the following events:

I. Veer Bal Diwas Quiz competition

5. High Commission of India in Maputo invites the Indian diaspora in Mozambique to actively and enthusiastically participate in the aforesaid events and give us further suggestions for making the celebrations of ‘Veer Baal Diwas’ in Mozambique unique and spectacular for the rest of the world.
